Looks like you could have picked up enough DOF at a higher ISO/ smaller opening, at least enough to bring the back wings into better focus. I do like the "head on" pose and color. Excellent detail on the parts in focus.

I like the head-on pose. And the fact that it is a bright red DF. These DFs have eluded me so far. :-( I also like the BG that picks up colors of the perch and of the DF. DOF is narrow, as already pointed out. Placement is right on and that works well for me. Very nice photo.

Well done, Sandy. I think your lens opening was a good compromise. You got excellent detail in the head and front wings, and an attractive, non-distracting BG. :toast:

Stunning head on capture with just the right dof. Bringing the leaf in from the corner is a nice touch.
