Great shot Howard, I like the movement and open beak, you captured awesome bird in natural habitat , background is a bit wavy because of the heat, I would try to make little bit more smooth by editing in PC. Thank you for sharing

Good running pose.

background is a bit wavy because of the heat

Doubtful IMO or I'd see similar artifacts in a lot of my photos here from Phoenix. To me this looks more like an optical side effect of using the 1.4x converter. Whatever, it is not an issue for me and doesn't need any further manipulation.

Excellent detail in the Roadrunner, Howard. There's an odd waviness in the bg that I've seen occasionally in the past but have never been able to figure out. Were you panning when you shot this?

Great shot Howard. One hell of shy bird to capture :toast:

Yes I was panning Dennis. The shots with it more in the open didn't work, only managed a few frames as it got closer to this BG vegetation.

Howard, great detail on the subject. Pity about the background which couldn't be helped.

Howard,
Given the heat of the day you did well on the exposure. I sometimes find it hard for the camera to focus when there that many heat waves but your image is very sharp. I can't seem to get a picture of one of these guys and you caught him actually in a running position. Super job given the conditions Howard. :toast:
