A shot from a couple months ago on a weekend trip to Coyote Gulch in Escalante with my wife. It was my first time there - I've been to most other areas in Escalante - I just usually avoid areas with people around, but it's too bad I waited. This place is simply heaven on earth (to me at least). I'm confused why I've seen so few unique comps from the area as there are comps around every corner in every direction. (Uh...I mean - never go there  )

larger version recommended

CC - appreciated - thanks

8 sec?? (not sure)

The light you bring to an image is always special, Andrew, and this is no exception. Balancing the shadows and sunlit areas in this manner is no small feat. Very well done. Just love the comp and colors here.

I like the wonderfully intense colors in the waterfall and the misty pool beneath it. Very unusual.

This is lovely, Andrew. Dig those Velvia colors. Looks like I need to add Coyote Gulch to my ever-growing list of places to visit. Thanks for the inspiration!

As others have noted. I like the way you were able to balance the bright and shadow areas. Beautiful.

The blues and oranges really work well together in this. The blank blue sky adds to this shot - normally a killer!
