This is Mt. Unwin (I think) reflecting in Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park. Amazingly, I had the lake and the sunset to myself on this mid-July day in a busy national park. My feelings at this point included a bit of melancholy that a wonderful day was ending and I've tried to capture that with the soft reflections and subtle colors in the clouds. No boats, no trout rising, no aquatic birds, and not a spot of anything on the water. It''s almost spooky. A very expressive image in my opinion.

Gorgeous light and serene atmosphere so well captured. Nice details in the darks and reflections of Mt. Unwin and, linked by a ridge to the left, Mt. Charlton. This is one of the most expressive photos I have seen from this view.

Very nice mood and comp, Mark. Love the glass reflection and soft color. You sure got some nice shots on your trip to the CR. Where's that green with envy face guy? Oh well, this will do: :toast:

Mission accomplished, Mark. The light, colors, and even the blurred reflections all convey a somber mood. Amazing how you could achieve that mood with such a spectacular scene.
