Red Fox

There is a place in the Dunes in the Netherlands where it is not hard to see foxes. They are being fed by people and they come very close. Although I do not like this, it is a good way to photograph them. Before this I had only seen foxes in the very distance.

Ellen,
Nice portrait of the beauty. :toast:
If anything, tone down (burn) the highlight extending from nose to frame just a little.

Nice portrait! I think there is a bit of green hue throughout that you might tweak. I like the shiny nose.

Very nice porttrait Ellen, agree with both previous comments about the highlights and hue, but that is easily fixed. Nice shot! :wavey:

Hi Ellen,

I'm definitely in agreement with your statement about not liking the feeding of wildlife! Exposure looks good here and definitely sufficiently sharp. In a perfect world I think I'd prefer a little lower angle and perhaps just a little better isolation from that background, but these are small nits.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Hi Ellen, hmmm I am not surprised this feeding of wildlife happens in the Netherlands, it's kind of inevitable in such a densely populated place (no further comment). I do agree though that habituated animals can make for great photographic opportunities that are hard to pass on, even if one is against the feeding/habituation. I am glad you do mention the situation though. The detail on the fox' fur is superb and the fixed gaze a point of interest. The BG is a little distracting to my eye and has a busy look. Targeting the BG separately in PP'ing by reducing the contrasts and darkening the brighter areas and darkening the bg just a little overall will help IMO.
