A Time For Reflection

This image was made on a recent backpacking trip into the Crazy Mountains, in the Gallatin National Forest in Montana. This is my tent at Blue Lake, in the shadow of Crazy Peak. This is a blend of two exposures, one for the tent and sky (with the meteor) and the other for the glow on the trees from my tent. As usual, your thoughts and suggestions are always welcome!

Cool shot Zack. The exposure blend was an excellent idea for the tree glow. Nice work!

Off topic, but what are the rules for camping next to water in MT? Here in the back country in WY, it's at least 150 ft. In some areas even further if posted.

Thanks guys!

Nic, the laws regarding backcountry camping in Montana state you must be 200ft from water unless it's a designated site, which this was. I did notice that nobody seems to follow that rule however. Same goes for the hanging of your food rule, I saw people just stringing it up right next to their tent, five feet off the ground and resting against the tree..a bear could never get to that..some people are just lacking in the common sense department I guess.
