Sweet shot Sandy, I have found these guys to be quite difficult to capture in flight. Congratulations on a very nice image, with a good look at the red eye and the iridescence on the wings - well done.

Nice to get one in flight. I wish it were a little sharper, especially around the eye, and especially with that camera  . Also, a little better eye contact might be nice. Still a keeper though. :toast:

A nice image Sandy. Good exposure to my eye. I too wish for more sharpness and detail on the bird.

This bird's simply beautiful in flight, love the iridescent wing color & red eye!
Well exposed too, just wish a for a bit more detail at the head/body..
Great shot as posted Sandy :wavey:

Vastly superior to any of my flight shots of this species. With hindsight, you could have bumped the f-stop up a couple of notches and gotten more DOF. It looks like your focus point was mid-wing. But a shot I'd be happy to have.

Nits have already been noted but a very nice shot nonetheless.

A stunning shot. These birds are full of personality but tough to shoot. You did a great job!
