These large birds inhabit quiet beaches and intertidal areas of tropical Australia.

Beautiful bird in a nice habitat - just curious, how big is "large" - ? gull-sized? heron -sized?

You're right Sandy - it's all relative. Large for a wader type bird; about the body of the big gulls but with longer wings and longer legs

Wonderful detail, I like the low angle and the habitat included.

Very nice Rob, a good look at a bird I've never seen before. Love the low POV.

Rob, where do you get all these different species. I can't remember you ever posting the same species twice, ever! Another cool species you present here in a really cool setting. Great techs as always.

Very nice - an interesting looking species for sure. I've never even heard of this species of thick-knee.
