Egg laying

I was fortunate while shooting the stink bugs hatching to see a female laying eggs. She did not seem to be concerned about my being close, but concentrated on the job at hand.

Canon T3i
1/400 @ F-4 ISO 400
Canon EF 100 macro USM + 12mm Xtube
tripod.

Great nature story! It would be better if the bug was totally in focus (more DOF). Would consider cloning out the egg just above the tail end (I think it's an egg).

Excellent companion to your previous post. I don't recall ever seeing an image of an insect depositing her eggs. I agree about cloning out the oof egg above the mother.

How fortunate to gather a (nearly) complete natural history of a bug in one place. amazing series you've got going with this. Very well seen and captured

Wow, amazing capture of a natural event, John! Yes, more DOF on the insect would have been nice but to me the most important parts are clear--the eye and the egg. And that egg is very sharp! Great comp on this but also agree with others about cloning out the one egg or at least toning down the brightness of it. Thanks for sharing this seldom seen glimpse of nature.

The eggs bring a lot to the shot adding great interest John.
Great plane of focus @ f/4 to bring so much in as well.
Good light & natural color, nice job here :toast:
