The Marsh

I made this shot last year about this time. Being in the marsh in the early morning can be a special feeling, which I enjoy very much. It has been difficult shooting and coming up with new images this summer with the extream dry conditions, so looking through files from last summer and fall. I posted a very similar one to this back at that time so some of you may remember that one. This one is a longer exposure than the other and has a bit more movement in the marsh grasses. I enjoyed the feel and look of this thinking it captured the marsh as I saw and felt it. I didn't print the other one but think I will print this one. Thanks for looking.
Canon, 100mm, iso 400, f/14 and 1/2 sec.

I like the contrast between the delicate details of the foreground grasses and the blurred detail of the trees. It's made all the more effective by the light you've brought to this. Nice job!

Worth printing. I really like the movement of the grass and the captured water droplets. The bright lit grass is a plus and really adds to the sense of time and weather.

Love the intimate nature of this. The foggy bg and droplets sparkling in the grass really set a great mood. Beautiful color and detail as well.

Lovely shot Nick. I like the way the water droplets are sparkling in the light. The color combo is also very attractive and I like the way you've isolated the grass against the bg.

Very nice diffuse lighting, and the delicate drops on teh grasses stand out against the blurry bg. Well done!

This is just a sweet shot, Nick! Love the comp, the square format, the clouds and mist, the color, and the rain on the grasses. Great "flow" in the grasses as well. Super shot! :toast:

Nick, what is fascinating for me in your image is the only just idea of a motion blur in the grasses - that makes it extraordinary to me. Fine colors and a wonderful handling of the background to my eye.

Very beautiful, soft light, bags of atmosphere and a glorious palette of natural looking colours. Puts me in the marsh complete with biting bugs.

Nick this is beautiful. I love the contrasts here. Sharp vs soft. Green vs Blue. Warm vs cool. I also love the moisture throughout both as dew on the grass and fog in the air. Really nice.
