The hatching

An interesting photo op. I was shown where stink bugs (Pentatomidae) eggs had been laid, but when I got there the eggs were hatching. In the end I had photos of the eggs, eggs hatching, eggs being laid and stink bugs mating. And,as usual there was a slight breeze.

This is amazing and totally unique. Sounds like you got the complete natural history of these bugs. I might have liked to see more of the eggs in focus but I love the colors sense of urgency evoked by the hatchlngs. How wonderful you got to take advantage of this opportunity. Kudos

Excellent capture of this insect behavior, John. I like the sense of movement as the bugs hatch and scamper off. You probably could have also shot this at a higher iso and a narrower fstop for a little more DOF.
