This is an entry for the weekly challenge "Bug Eyed".

These Meadowhawks invaded our yard a couple of weeks ago. I believe this might be an immature male Ruby Meadowhawk.

Canon 7D, Sigma 150 mm f2.8 macro, ISO 640, f/10, 1/125 sec., HH and natural light. I did not have the tripod and the flash available. Unfortunately these Meadowhawks have not shown up since.

Thanks for looking. C & Cs are always welcome. Roger.

Roger,
This is outstanding, the detail, the color and the layout makes this a very nice post.

I like the lighting on the wing and the details in the face. Nice capture.

Great close-up of this guy, Roger! I like the pose you have captured and the good detail in his face. I especially like the details of the eyes in the larger version. Yes, a little more light on the right side may have been helpful but I also think this is just great as is. The pano comp works well for this image.

Very nice! I like the composition, side lighting and angles. The dof makes the head and wing edges stand out nicely. Its front right leg may be a little bright.

Thanks all for viewing and for your comments.

I have selectively increased the exposure on the right side (left eye). The bright leg was pretty much at the end of its road; I think I have reduced the brightness and color pattern somewhat, but that is as much as the software did (or that I could do with it.).

Thanks again for your comments.
