Golden-Mantled Squirrel

Yellowstone's Sheepeater Cliff is a popular spot for both humans and animals. There's a bevy of small critters scrambling about the basalt rockpile not far from the picnic area--pikas, chipmunks, marmots, red squirrels, golden-mantled squirrels and occasional a marten are seen there. Suffice to say, the wildlife there is pretty habituated to humans, so it wasn't too difficult for me to lie down on the ground and wait for this fellow to scamper within range as it foraged out in the open.

Great shot of one of my favorite little critters! Like the low angle. I do think it could be just a tad darker. Thanks for sharing.

A most delightful subject, and I like the low perspective and background colours too.

Belly work pays off handsomely! I like this one and I was wishing you posted a larger version to see if I could identify a photographer in the eye.

Nice work Max! A perfect situation for that flexible 100-400 lens no?
