This is a wonderful scene, but I do have some concerns with the processing and the composition. The chopped off tree on the far left feels like more of a distraction than a beneficial element to the scene -- especially when it is divided away from the rest of the scene by the vertical trunk that is next to it. Also, I feel as though your processing is far too heavy handed. I don't know if this was the result of using HDR, or perhaps excessive shadow and highlight work, but the sky appears darker than the foreground which is mostly in shadow. This processing also creates some strong halos around the trees. I do believe this image has potential, but it would require a crop, and less of the HDR look.

A grand vista, indeed. There seems to be a slight tilt to the left which I find distracting.

Hi, Nancy,
Could you show the original image, before any processing? I think that would be a useful comparison to help give some feedback on your processing...
