Scotland . . . what an awesome place . . . what sucky weather . . . and for some reason I kept on getting attacked by dudes with swords screaming "there can be only one!" Very strange.

This illustrated a recent post of mine to the Outdoor Photographer blog called Leave No Stone Unturned.

Keep on chillin' y'all.

Great composition and vision but for some reason this version doesn't have the same luminosity as the same image on your website. Love the image with the website processing, but this one seems flat in comparison.

That's real Gneiss Ian. I always receive some dodgy feedback about my magenta skies but that is truly what you find so often occurring in Scotland and yes it is decidedly grumpy in respect of the weather particularly in the middle of Summer when it rains most of the time and you get attacked by the dreaded Scottish midge when it stops raining and blowing.

Love the Highlander reference, seriously. Watched that movie 100 times in college. The newer edit I'm 50/50 on with addt'l scenery.

My only critique, and I'm diggin' deep given your masterful skills, is less foreground, more mid. Not that your comp isn't bloody compelling, cuz it's captivating. It's the far off formations I could put more in the comp. Nit pickin' rubbish, but my two cents. Color, contrast, yada, all top notch.

Wonderful leading lines bringing you to the arch and sea water with a dramatic sky to top it off, way to go.

Intense composition and mood, Ian. On top of that the clouds were just right at this moment. Just wonderful.

Really engaging comp Ian. I do like the muted color and strong textural rock lines.

I love this shot Ian, beautiful movement across the rocks.

I can't wait to get out there again myself, Scotland is a special place and would like to visit the Isle of Lewis, this is on Lewis right?

Looking forward to seeing more of your work from the region.

Fine muted tones and based on your work and others, evidently Scotland is pure-Delicious. Really like the lines leading to the arch to the sky. No nits from me.

best wishes,

Carol
