So it still seems that I'm in love with softness more than anything.

Comments, opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Barbara - This is really cool - like your choice of composition putting the flower at a diagonal. Was the flower past prime ? The petals show a slightly bleached look instead of being dark pink (unless this variety normally provides this coloration, which might also be possible).

I had great fun shooting coneflowers in the last two days. I'll post one of mine shortly.

Barbara:
The softness is very nice. I like slightly titled orientation and how the petals seem to flow towards the center. The image looks a little dim and selective brightening by 0.6 or 1 stop will bring out the color in the cone a little more.

I really like the POV you chose here as the petals act as leading lines to the main subject. Placing the flower at a diagonal works best, too. I agree with Gary that it does seem a little dark.

Barbara: Your POF/DOF works great for me as does your diagonal arrangement in the frame. Very nicely done.>=))>

I'm with you, Barbara! Along with the softness that is pleasing, I like the lines of the petals and the sepals for creating a really neat comp. Plus, this is a refreshing perspective on the Cone Flower. Yum!
