This is a closeup of a large iceberg carved by the wind, particles of ice, and the water in Lago Argentino.

Los Glaciares National Park, Santa Cruz Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

As always, I look forward to any and all feedback.

Thanks!

Ive gotta be honest here--it's a neat subject and a good idea, but it's just too messy. The brown dirt just kills the aesthetic qualities. There is a great abstract here, though--it just occupies about 1/3 of this shot

Leo - This is a nice abstract - a couple of small points do detract for me as Stan has pointed out. For me, the small shard of ice on the left, the little brown rock on the right don't add anything to the shot. Minor points and small, but my eye centers on these more than the rest of the image. I do really like the center section of the shot. Hope the trip was a good one.

I like blue ice. the left side of this image has some great geometric elements and wonderful color.

Leo,

I have to say that I think this is fascinating and I like it! The mentioned distractions I find to be integral elements to the scene. Now I'm not sure what the white thing is - looks like a piece of shaved plastic, but even so, there is no reference to scale. The brown stone doesn't offer much help there either, but I think creates some tension between the two; add the graphics, lines, etc. and this works for me!

Just goes to show, different strokes for different folks.

Can't quite figure out the scale here, and just love it. Particularly like the left half of the frame. The angles there are really nice.

Neat image. I like the diagonal lines running one way and the arc of the melted area running the other. I think that little bit of ice in the lower left is a key to pulling it all together. Nicely seen.

Thanks Stan, Harry, Nancy, Lon, Tom, Tony and Mark for your comments and suggestions.

To give you an idea of the scale - I was on a double-decker catamaran that could carry 100 passengers. The very top of the catamaran did not go past the part of the iceberg in this image that is half way up the vertical image area. The white piece of melting ice on the lower left corner, was probably close to three times the height of the average person. The highest part of the berg was around twice the height of the vertical area of the berg shown in this image and the length was almost four times the horizontal area of ice pictured here.
