Lily - Light Play

TIme to join the many Lotus or water lilly selections.

Taken yesterday at 2PM in cloudy weather with 70-200 f2.8...this was at 200mm, f16, and 1/50 ss, with the Nikon d300.

Needless to say, post-processing for darker mood, saturation, and spot-lighting.

Beautiful, especially that center! On my monitor there is room to bring up the highlights, and I think that would be even more eye catching.

Ken:
Both images look fine. I like the brighter processing which brings out the color better especially the pink in the petals. The pose in the first is more formal and the second is more relaxed and gregarious.

Incredable Lotus but both images appear under exposed at least to me.

At first I didn't like the dark look, but after studying it a bit, it really grew on me. Love the large version. Very sharp & the subtle light enhances the experience. :toast:

Ken - I really like the original low light Lily. There is just enough and beautiful light for the center and I really like the post processing. The combination of yellow and orange in the center looks pretty neat as well.

Not that the 2nd version is a pushover but the original is clearly different. And by the way, this is Water Lily (and not Lotus).
