Marina sunset

Today has been marked with severe thunderstorms and after one rolled through this evening I figured there was a good chance a nice sunset would present itself. When I saw the sky on fire I drove down the road to a local marina and caught the last minutes of the intense color.
I wish I'd had time to set up the tripod and do it "right" with a much lower ISO but time was of the essence

Nikon D300s 18-200mm VR HH
f/6.3
1/50s
ISO 1000
-.33 EC

Full Frame, adjustments in CS5 on 27" iMac

Some time the quick ones are so worth the effort Luke. I wouldn't change a thing.

This is beautiful Luke, can't understand why more haven't stopped by. Hard to figure this place sometimes.
I really like the color transition of the sky near the horizon, and the way the colors "glow" across the water..
Also like the boats reflections that add as well. Great PP, the image looks clean and clear.
Well done :toast:

I'm with th others on this one, Luke; wouldn't change a thing.

One of the things that makes this is the sharpness contrast between the boats and the lighting; really makes them stand out.
