This intimate, visual poem of an entwined silvery fern stem with sea grass on the dried, cracked earth of the salt marsh at low tide caught my eye. Taken in Sutherland, Scotland near Ben Loyal in Kyle of Tongue.

Canon 5DM2
Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L at 52mm
ISO100 0.3sec f/16

Thanks for having a look. Thanks for your comments on my previous posts.

Eva, doggone it! Whether it's an intimate shot like this or a wide angle seascape, it's a knockout nearly every time! Do you ever have an eye for photography! I love the character of the light, the bold pattern of cracks in the earth against the delicate script of the fern and grass. Just super.

What a delightful contrast! The whisp of a reed looks like a broken musical note.

Hey, thanks very much Catherine.

BTW Jim - I was going to say "visual music" instead of "visual poetry" due to that broken musical note! Thanks.

"Poetry" was the word that came to my mind when I saw this. There's some rhythms to this that do indeed feel poetic.

A marvelous little detail shot, Eva. I like the way your comp arranges the elements and lines, and the detail is excellent.

Very nice Eva. I like your description as well - Visual Poetry. In addition to liking the composition, I like how the color changes from the top of the cracked earth to a more silvery color beneath.

Nice to look at and it seems to tell a story while maintaining some mystery.

Eva, your image is really story telling to me. A fine and well balanced composition, conveying transitoriness impressively.
