Got this shot yesterday during a Gig Harbor garden tour. Private homes dressed up their landscapes for a tour by the local garden club members...my wife's passion. I tag along to look for photo ops.

Great shot Ken, well worth following your wife around the garden, I can think of worst things to do than spend the day in the garden.
Love the blues and the sharp detail of the prominent flower. I thing this lighting makes them look even more prickly !! :toast:

Ken - In line with your different theme - really like the selective focus on two just two of the blooms. The light though a bit harsh goes well with the summer mood.

I am sure you have a reason for the blank space at the top but for me, the frame looks stronger without much of it.

Very nice! Perfect choice for DOF. I like how they disappear into nothingness in the BG.

Comp is really nice but the background color is fantastic and compliments the flowers perfectly.

Ken:
I only see these as cut flowers that we use in Ikebana class. Lovely to see this in the ground. Like your composition here - rather stark lighting condition which is perfect for what you want to portray.

Neat flowers, possibly a teasel relative? I like the overall blue/purple tone with the green highlights and the depth that you've created with the oof flowers in the back.
