Great 'painted' BG Lorna. Very nice shot of this anemone. I like it a lot.

The white flower stands out beautifully from the multi-colored background. Well done, Lorna.

Wow, this one is just gorgeous! Beautiful detail and light in the flower, and backrounds don't get better than this. Congrats.

Love the overall softness of this, Lorna, and the placement of the flower - opening itself up beautifully to all the light and colour

The flower is lovely and the background superb. There's so much motion in the background. Was that the lighting or did you do something in processing?

Thanks every one for the great comments !
Mark it was pretty windy. I used a plamp to hold the flower and a polarizer but that was it. I was shooting in open shade and the BG had a bit of sun and lots of other flowers. Nothing super special on my part.

The lighting really shows off the delicate details of this flower! I also really like the sense of motion with the way the colors move in the background & the way the flower sits in the frame!

As Bill has said, a BG to die for
And this comp seems to work very well because of it.
Very nice Lorna!

I went back today with the edge 80 to try and recapture some of the amazing BG !
My Edge 80 was feeling a little jealous so back I went for some quality time with my baby (like any good mom) to try and recapture some of the magic. Lighting was not as good today so that will teach me not to be lazy, right !! Don't you just hate it when your lenses start squabbling in your camera bag over who is the favorite !! Don't they know they are all loved ! !
The flower had flattened and lost one of it's pedals right after this shot !

Love 'em all!! The first is the "most best" imo. That the bg can carry all that space on the left is a testament to how GOOD it is. Yum! Like to see the vertical comp, though it has a completely different feel and mood.

Very nice images, Lorna! I tend to like the vertical the most. It is in my opinion the nicest comp. But the BG's of the other ones are really great.
