Lassen Hat Creek Recovery

Not sure if this photo belongs in this gallery or not. It shows the slow recovery process after the Hat Creek Complex fire that was caused by several different lightning strikes in August of 2009.

Sunset was beautiful even though a bit stark with the dead trees still standing. A bit windy so I had to clone out a few unruly branches in the lower right side of the photo.

Comments and critiques are appreciated.

Canon 60D, f13, 1/4 sec., iso 400, -0.7 exp. bias, 44 mm (17-85 lens) IS turned off, Circ Polarizer.

Interesting photo. The larger post does show the situation much better than the thumbnail, glad I looked at it. It would be interesting to see this scene in another year or two. Thanks for sharing.

The larger version really shows off the desolation. I like how the fire damage is bracketed by the splash of foreground color of the flowers and the sunset on Lassen. Nice shooting.

As Rick said, Good documentary shot. It's nice to see that beauty can eventually come from the sad views we are seeing from the Western fires this year.
