Nigel: Give me about 1-2% more room left right and top and this gets a grade of 100. As is you'll just have to settle for 99.6. Very nicely done. >=))>

Good job finding a spray with this many open flowers with none gone by. I know that is not easy. I like that you got low enough to show the interior of some of the blooms.
The image as a whole comes across on my monitor as a bit flat. The green background is a bit warm (yellow) on my calibrated monitor. Presuming you shot this raw or have some way of adjusting the color temperature, you might try cooling this down a bit which in addition to making the green "greener" may intensify the blue. Also I would add a bit of contrast which would give the blooms more dimension. If you have editing software with a clarity slider, I would increase that just a bit to give even more dimension. Of course easy does it on any of those adjustments because the basic image is very good.

I agree with Bill. I am not sure of the warmth of the colors, but I agree with the rest of David's suggestions.

I like the sharpness and detail in the four blooms facing the camera. As for the tight framing, you could go with Bill's suggestion or you could tighten up the bottom so that all four sides "match". Did you add the subtle vignette or was that the natural light? It's a nice addition.

Hello all, thank you for taking the time to look at my pic. Thanks for all the suggestions. I am unable to do much about the cropping as I cropped in-camera so I am stuck with what there is.
Colour is calibrated on an iMac using a Spyder 3. Some reduction in colour and contrast may have been lost in sRGB conversion.
The vignette was added in post with the intention of moving the eye to the blooms. This is a subtle addition I make to my work just out of personal preference.
All the best, Nigel.

Ni Nigel, I shot and posted some bluebell images myself this spring, and I know that they are a challenging subject. I agree with the comments about preferring a bit more room, but otherwise, I like this image very much. I like the perspective, detail, excellent background, and beautiful colors. The added vignette works well.

Nigel - Other than the space on the left and right, I like it all. I specifically like the few blooms pointing downwards and few at the viewer and few away. Being able to see the anthers also makes the composition stronger. No issue with the vignette either but with more space, the vignette would be better I think.
