I am liking the portrait, but I am finding the textured effect way too much for my tastes. I might prefer a straight treatment, with a little more blurring of the background. YMMV.

Really nice portrait. I think it may be competing with the background a bit too much. Harley's suggestion about a bit more background blur sounds like a good suggestion. The most important critic is your son, though, not us persnickety photogs. :smile:
