Cove Bay Pebbles

Cove Bay, Hopeman, Moray, Scotland

This is a wonderful beach with many colored rocks made smooth by the powerful wave action. I can close my eyes and still hear the chattering of the rocks in the surf.

Taken on a 1-2-1 with Ian C. Thanks for having a look. All C&C welcome and appreciated.

Very beautiful. Especially the large image is very three dimensional. I feel like I can pick them up.

Very, very nice! I agree with David that it feels like you could reach out and pick these up. I love the misty water across the top too. Beautiful image! Can't think how you could have captured this any better. Fantastic work, Eva.

Wow. Due to the sheen, these appear translucent, and such a variety of sizes, colors, and shapes. How big are these Eva?

Wet rocks are always prettier. And, you made these look very beautiful, Eva. Great clarity throughout. I also like the long exposure for the water.

This is real nice! I know that sound you describe well. We have a beach out here with cobbles that get to about basketball size. It's fairly steep too, so the cobbles tumble hard and fast. It's an awesome sound.

The rocks feel much more organic from their wetness. Nice image.

I've seen so many opportunities like this over the years and never made one stick... The luminosity here is just lovely...

Outstanding photo Eva. I love the glow and sheen you captured on the stones as well as the blurry water.

Eva, your image has great impact on me. Fantastic three dimensional character, the blurredness at the top is just spot on to my eye.

So beautiful, Eva, really like this one. The rocks look like they are made of glass. :toast: :toast:

Lovely intimate scene! I like the clearity and colors of the shiny rocks. Works great with the water motion.

A wonderful find and well exposed, Eva. I like the colors, shapes, and shutter speed on the water.
The light makes the rocks glow.

Eva,

This is wonderful! We often make a comment about "taking us there," but this one really does for me. It takes me there because I just want to reach out and pick up some stones. The wet, polished rocks are beautiful and the incoming surf gives this some depth and dynamics. Beautiful!

I love all the details in the wet cobbles and the touch of wave action at the top says on the beach and creates a nice "horizon". Beautifully seen and presented. I remember the chattering rocks from a couple of trips to Nova Soctia...may years ago...but still a great memory.

I like it Eva. Simple, yet effective. I would like to also see one of just the rocks and not the wave action.

Large image is the stunner, they all shine like highly polished tumbled stones. Not a huge fan of long exposure water, but it works extremely well here.
