Cute critter Howard. What is it in layman's terms? Did you fill flash this shot?

Excellent shot of one of my favourite moth, Howard- Great timing, sharpness and perspective on this one- I don't know if you have enough room in the file, but you might also try to include the entire thistle in the composition- Very well done, Fabio

Thank you Fabio.
If I had it (thistle) to give it would be there my friend. It goes without saying.
When you're shooting these moving subjects, there's very little time to compose..
It's all I can do to acquire the subject with my AF, using the 1.4x ext which slows it down a bit..

Great job of framing and excellent detail in the moth. I really like these moths and you're showing it off very well.

Another nice one Howard! Good composition and I like that green catchlight in the clearwing's eye.

Howard, your thistles are evidently a moth magnet. This is a dynamic capture of this Clearwing doing his thing. I like the little bit of movement in the wings - enough to show movement but still showing the clear wing structure - and the colorful thistle.
