Nikon D5100 w/ 200-400VR + TC14e
ISO400, F8, 1/640 sec.
RAW image processed in PSE10; no crop
Location: Tucson, AZ - Catalina State Park

While out hiking last weekend I found this little lady sitting on her nest. It was just about at eye level in a Desert Hackberry Tree. I did't approach too closely and she didn't appear to be stressed by my presence so I took a few images and left her be. Unfortunately I'm not good at hummingbird ID's so if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated. As far as the image goes I wish the OOF branches and leaves weren't so apparent but otherwise I'm pleased. Comments and critiques welcome!

Great detail and you managed the bright light well Tonia.
Good eye contact too.. It looks like one of two species I see here all the time, a Black-chinned female :wavey:
