The Green Zebra

Waterfall and moss detail at Panther Creek Falls in the Columbia River Gorge of Washington. I found these zebra like stripes very interesting. There are so many abstract opportunities at this waterfall if you have a long lens.

Nikon D7000, 70-300 Nikkor at 300mm, polarizer
0.5 sec at f/13, ISO 100.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions you have. Larger version is provided.

This is really nice, Scott! A unique abstract/detail shot - I really appreciate tighter comps on waterfalls; they're much less stereotypical. The detail in the large version is a treat. My only nit might be that the upper-left seems darker than the lower right (which I'm sure is natural), but if you're going for more of an abstract pattern look, you might want to make it more uniform. Super minor nit though. Love it.

This is a treat! Excellent image, from a unique place such as Oregon. Wouldn't change anything...

Bigger is better with this one. Interesting comp and I like the diagonal lines and contrast. Did you shoot a few with a faster shutter speed? Although this is wonderful just how it is, I’m still wondering how it might look with the water a tad less milky.

well seen composition. it might lack for something to settle my eye but that's pretty minor. the water seems a touch bright to my eye as well and i'd like to see a little more texture there.

Unique and well seen. I actually find these type of images more interesting than the standard waterfall shots that you see day in and day out. Nice!

Scott, great find and very well conceived... I really like the texture of the moss interchanging with the flowing water

An amazing abstract to me, Scott. The larger version is a must to enjoy all the delightful details. Just the right amount of texture in the water for me, appealingly counteracted by the delicate textures of the moss.

A unique image. The small version looks a little bit busy, but the larger version is beautiful.

Cool abstract. Nice handling of the light to get the texture in both the light and dark areas.

Neat abstract. I like that you've got contrast both in the color and in the texture. This is almost dizzying and the larger version works much better. Another image that is much better when seen large.
