Mountain Goat

I was up in the Denver area last weekend to celebrate my son's graduation from Dental School (yes, I'm pretty proud!)

Had a chance to run up to the top of Mt. Evans and had some nice close opportunities with the Mountain Goats.

Full Frame

Canon 5D Mark III, 70-200 f/4L IS @ 85 mm
1/4000 @ f/5.6, ISO 400

I did not apply any sharpening to this image as it felt plenty sharp enough without any post process sharpening. I'm really enjoying the images that come out of the Mark III.

Seriously Keith, you found a mountain goat  ! Lucky, lucky, lucky you!

The detail in the fur is awesome...I can't believe that's all from the Mark III, must be a great camera! I also like the angle and lighting here. Wow, were you ever close to this guy! Must have been one cooperative billy; and a nice lookin' one at that. :wavey:

Wow, just wow. Beautiful subtle lighting of the goat and an incredible setting. Love the wispy appearance of the fur. :toast:

Nice shot Keith! I have been away from home the last few weeks and am returning soon. Were the little kids born and out yet? If not, should be soon. They are a blast to watch!

I like how you arranged him against the backdrop of the high Colorado peaks! Exposure looks very good too. This makes me want to re-visit Mt Evans!

Wow, this is an amazing photograph. This guy really is king of the mountain. Beautiful colors and details. I agree about the new 5d M3....the focus is super.

I love this mountain goat against the background of the mountains and how all the colors in the image are complementary to his coat. Beautiful light, as well, and very sharp.
