Another from Malheur. Part of a mating ballet/ritual, etc. Canon 7D, Canon 400mm f5.6,1/1600sec, f7.1. Bright cloud. Some PS adjustment.

Lovely poses. A minor nit—the blacks are a little washed out. I believe you could pull back on the shadow/highlight to get the blacks richer and still preserve detail. A fine and graceful image! :toast:

lovely interaction Roger
you did well to expose them this well in what looks like dreary weather :toast:
maybe add some midtone contrast for some "pop"?

I like the overall color sceme ad look here but I'm with Phil about the washed out blacks. I'd do less photoshopping and keep the dark parts looking more natural.

Ditto on the blacks, nice detail in the whites, and I love the action and the positions of the birds.

Great action you caught here Roger, you did very well considering the conditions. Excellent detail in both birds. I am wondering how this might look converted to black and white.

Sweet Photo

Wow, I really like the action you captured, it makes up for some slight softness in the heads of the two birds. Their poses are perfect. If you have a little more room the the right side I might open it up a little in that direction. I like shooting in bright cloudy conditions, it certainly helped here with these black and white birds.
