Have not posted here for ages,Just got back from a magical 3 day trip in the Khutzeymateen.A Grizzly Bear sanctuary ,actually the only one in North America where the Bears can live totally undisturbed by man ,especially hunters. The bears congreate at the estuary of the river to fatten up on the protein rich sedge Grass which grows there ,eating up to 100 lbs of it a day.Trying to replace the enormous loss of body weight that had taken place during their long winters sleep. You may see several bears at the time there with mostly food on their mind.A little later when they have fattened up they will be thinking also of romance ..
Canon Eos 1D Mk 11 . Canon 79-200 at 75 mm .F2.6 at 1/5000 . ISO 640 .
Overcast with light rain.From a zodiac .
Critique and comments , Thank you for looking .

I like the framing and especially like the sense of precarious balance given by the airborne foot and stretched out walking pose.

Beautiful scene, Suzanne! Just wondering - why the high ISO and ?f2.6 in spite of getting an awesome 1/5000s shutter speed?

Ajit,
Did not want to miss any good action shots ,as earlier in the day had photographed two bears playing at a lower ISO and they were not sharp enough .Decided to pull out all stops just in case of a repeat performence. The ambient light was good sometimes depending where the subjects were situated. Was dull and rain showers all day .
Ajit you would love this place ,as much fun as photographing leopards in Kabini. :wavey:
