Tree Swallows Territory

Delightful to watch Swallows dash and dart around like tiny fighter planes, I was delighted to have captured this at Ridgefield NWR, WA State. The two birds on the right were minding their own business, adoring each other (see previous post), when the interloper bird on the left “buzzed” them and caused the “flap” you see here.
D700, 300/2.8 + 1.4 TC, beanbag rest in car window; f 5.6, 1/1000, ISO 800. About a 70% crop. Did some blending in the bg, enhanced motion blur of bird on left, since no in-camera “ss blend” possible(!). :roll eyes:
Hope you enjoy this, and would appreciate comments/critique. Thanks.

Nice action and setting, but as with your previous Tree Swallow post you are too far away and cannot expect to keep decent image quality by such drastic dropping of the image. Your images will show more detail if you can manage to get closer to your subjects.

Sweet composition, Catherine. I like the use of the enhanced motion blur. That's a trick I'll have to remember.

For me the birds are too small to be an effective element of the photo.
