Glacial Waterfalls

I took this shot in Lago Argentino in Los Glaciares National Park, Santa Cruz Province, Patagonia, Argentina. The glacial melt water runs down the mountains and hills and empties into Lake Argentino. The almost glowing green/blue color of the water in the lake is caused by all the glacial sediments deposited into it. Depending on the light, the lake can have a glowing blue color as well.

I cropped over a third of the top part of the image because there was nothing going on in the sky at all, and I wanted the focus to be on what was going on beneath the sky.

As always, I would appreciate any feedback/suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Leo

I think it's a shame you haven't got a few more comments but for the record It's a pleasing enough shot and shows the nature of the area with its' glacial silted water and cascading falls but it doesn't look like you were in the best position to make the most of what was on offer. The exposure is quite fast and I do wonder (assuming you weren't on a boat) whether a longer shutter speed might have made a pleasing difference to those falls. I don't think the light was really at its best either, overcast is good as it enhances the natural colours but compositionally it still remains a bit static.

I like this a lot and the quasi panorama works well. But yes it is a little flat and a better play of light and shadow would really make this image pop. Well done.

Thanks Ian and Lucy for your feedback.

Ian - Yes, this was shot from a boat, hence the fast shutter speed. I agree with you that if it would have been possible, a slower shutter speed would have given some movement to the falls making the shot a bit more dynamic.

Thanks again to both of you for your comments and suggestions. Its always very much appreciated.
