I shot this image last summer and was greeted with some really nice light for my first time there. I was on the ledge for quite a bit of time in overcast conditions but there a few hints of promising light so I waited patiently. About an 90 minutes after sunrise the sun busted through the clouds for a couple minutes and really lit the place up while leaving some textured skys and nice shadows in the distance. I have a few different comps from this location but I choose this one to display here and its much tighter than the tradional view and shot it that way thinking that it really puts the viewer in the scene and offer a slightly different perspective. Let em know you think.

Way to be patient with the light. I recently visited the same spot but without a cloud in the sky - I much prefer your result. I think this composition works very well. Nice work!

Great light, and the dark clouds are a nice contrast to the bright rocks. I like the framing of both the near and far windows.

Todd,

Hate to be redundant, but classic indeed. Beautifully captured and great timing waiting for the right moment. Color and saturation look great to me.

Interesting take on an often photographed scene. I've invariably been there under plain blue skies, so this is a treat. Just a minor nit that can be easily fixed - there's a heavy blue halo around Turret Arch and the formation on the left.
