Brunnera flowers

To quote my plant book, "In springtime, a cloud of tiny blue flowers hovers above brunnera's low mound of heart-shaped leaves". This variety is called "Hadspens Cream" which has green leaves with yellow margins. I have lots of shade gardens and this is a plant that does quite well in shade.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/16 for 1 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Carolyn, I have these in my shade garden as well - the "Jack Frost" variety. The flowers are very attractive, but also very small. I like your presentation very much. They stand out well against the nice BG. You could try darkening or even cloning out the little bit of bright stem in the LRC.

Thanks for the ID on my spider photo. I think it's right on the mark. :toast:

Beautiful colors, simple, sharp, lovely composition. These are what I would call forget-me-nots in California. Maybe it's the same thing?

Lovely image, Carolyn. Just the right amount of dof and a delightful, speckled bg

Good use of the available light & I like the dappled greens of your BG Carolyn.
Well composed frame, nice job on this dainty little beauty :toast:

Kathy, I agree the flowers do look quite similar; I have both flowers. I researched this a little more and found out that both Brunnera and Forget-me-nots are part of the "Boraginaceae" family so they are "related".

Thanks everyone for your comments.
