Still exploring the capabilities of my new Fuji X-100, I decided to try out the macro mode. Shot at ISO 1250, fll and 1/80sec sans tripod. Fixed lens on this camera is a 23mm f2. I did blur the background somewhat in PS.

Steve, the larger image looks great. Really well done. I like the comp and colors, and I would not change a thing. For some odd reason, the BG in the smaller version looks a little odd and artificial, and I see processing artifacts all around the the edges of the petals. Could just be my contrasty Imac monitor.

Thanks for your comments and support. For some reason LR compressed the file to only 41k which is why the smaller image looks so compressed. Anyway here's the better quality small image.

Wow, your second posting of the smaller image is beautiful (as is, of course, the larger version). Great colors in this and wonderful focus on the flower and all the interesting details in it. I like the comp and the blurred background. Well done, Steve!

Steve - The repost looks loads better than the original - superb details. Works perfectly for me as presented even though the petal in the 4'O Clock position if opened slightly would make the symmetry even better.

Very well captured color on this beauty. Nice processing on the bg, too-- a good idea, as it gives the flower undivided attention.
