Really beautiful evening light giving unusual colours. Natural countryside setting makes a lovely image. Graham

Amazing light, clean bg and a beautiful bird. Although I see great detail I wonder why the front of the bird looks so soft. It looks like NR to me or is it the dof? Really nice

The light on this is very nice. Colors are complimentary and seem to work very well. Something looks strange to me with the softness in the plumage. The background is showing noise. It looks like NR was applied to bird, rather than the background?

What a beautiful bird and the lighting is exceptional. I also see the unusual smoothing in the background etc., could you share your post-processing details. Excellent details on the face and wing areas.

Thanks for looking and your comments,Gary re post -processing! wish i could say i did this or that but the truth of the matter is that apart from a little usm on resize i did nothing to this image and i am a bit annoyed with myself with having my iso at 500 [ typical novice  }no NR was applied anywhere on this image.

Sorry I missed this before, Keith. Gorgeous lighting on a wonderful owl. Congrats on the Pick!

Was there a little breeze hitting the front of the bird, by any chance?
