It's warm again, and the antique tractor shows of summer are just around the corner. Last year I had a lot of fun at those! I used camera equipment that was consistent with the vintage farm machinery. For this shot I used a 1914 Kodak Special No. 1, which has a 105mm Taylor, Taylor, & Hobson anastigmat triplet lens with Optimo pneumatic shutter. In 1914 this was a state of art camera and quite expensive. It shoots 120 roll film. I usually shoot b&w film in these old cameras, but decided to shoot some Portra 400 color since my subjects had nice color. I like the soft, subdued look I get from these old uncoated lenses. It gives me a vintage look on these vintage machines. Sometimes, high contrast, saturation, and sharpness is over rated.

I'd perhaps crop some of the grass on the bottom, and allow more of that nice sky.

<> I may have moved to the right and shot this image. It may have allowed more separation of the two tractors. That is, more space between the front right wheel of the front tractor and the back of the second.
<> Yes to cropping a little more of the foreground.
<> I would love to see this in black and white. There are some nice clouds that would add to the bw image.
I feel the same about equipment. I feel good playing some acoustic blues from the 30's on my 1932 guitars.
Somehow, as soon as I saw the thumbnail, I figured this one was yours.
