At Roosengaarde, Skagit Valley, on April 9th. We're looking at a view over a mixed planting of tulips, daffodils, jonquils, and hyacinth through two huge rhododendrons across acres of daffodils in bloom in the field to the Cascade Mountain foothills in the background. When I came around a corner and saw this from the parking lot side, as you see here, my jaw dropped, and I stopped so quickly I almost came outa my shoes!

D700, 24-70 @ 70, f 8, 1/80, ISO 320, cpl, +0.67EV. Handheld. I did clone away some "festival objects" and a very narrow ribbon of pathway behind the flowers. Pruned some dead flowers. Luminosity mask on the sky.

Very much hope you enjoy. Comments, opinions and critiques appreciated.

I really like this, Catherine! The variety of colors is awesome. I also like your DOF
choice. My only suggestion to consider is to burn down (darken) the snow covered
area of the mountain or crop down to eliminate the mountain range in the background.

Great composition! Bountiful blooms and light w/o sun spots or shadows. I like the b/g and agree with the suggestion to darken the sky just a tad...The island of trees look painterly. Nicely done!

I don't know whose timing was better, yours or the grower's. Not an easy accomplishment to get this wide variety of flowers blooming at the same time. Not a spent bloom in the whole scene. Amazing. You sure they were real? Nice capture in very good light for the flowers. :toast:

Catherine - Whoa !...What a fantastic Floralscape  . So many colors harmoniously blend together to play magic in the frame and in the mind.

Agree with darkening the sky/snow a tad.

Catherine:
Fabulous florascape! :toast: Really like the mixed varieties and color. The only suggestion I have is similar to the others and I would perhaps go even further to recommend cropping just below the snow because my eyes go to the snow and stop there. When I scroll up and cover the snow, my eyes were able to come back to the flowers and explore each bloom instead of being glued to the snow.

Great color and dof. The combination of colors really works well together. Also the way the rows of flowers are planted moves the eye right through the trees in the image and to the background.
