Color Burst

I only had a couple of days to shoot tulips this year, and this is one of my takes. Catherine from the PNW forum met me in the afternoon, and we hit the fields while light was still a little harsh, but we had a few breaks with some clouds here and there. I was drawn to this little group and shot with the intention of getting some out of focus color around these. Thanks for taking a look!

Think these might've needed a little more dof, Ned; and the yellow of the subject tulips separated a smidge more from the yellow in the center bg. But WOW did you ever pack in the color! I like the touch of blur along the bottom edge. Nice result considering the tough light.

Nice art photo work with lovely colors. IMO the extensive red on the top and the yellow bottom left is a bit distracting. Otherwise very good image (especially the central section).

Hi Ned :wavey: Beautifully composed, with delightful color and soft detail ..... very enjoyable!!  To make this picture perfect, i would darken or crop the whites in the upper top section

Ned - Nice frame with nicely lit dual colored Tulips  . I specially like the one closest to the viewer with two curved petals moving in opposite directions.

I'd recommend a small crop from the top to remove the whitish areas. Wish the small areas of highlights in the middle section of the frame were more diffused or absent - but that is really a minor thing.

I agree with Catherine's observations Ned. Still very nice, and man, those colors really jump out at you!

You achieved your goal well Ned. I agree with the crop suggestions, but I really like the colors.
