Part of a once-popular glacially made downhill stream, known as "The Slides", with a slightly different perspective. Sorry, winds were up, and I didn't notice the pine needles moving that much. OOps. D90. C&C welcomed, thanks!!

Motion in the pine needles does not detract...it actually echoes the water motion and helps emphasize the downhill curve. Very cool. Excellent job on the water. The blue tones in the lower right half (especially on the rock) are a little distracting. Elsewhere, not so much. Wonderful perspective.

Hi Bill, That is a very interesting view...pretty cool. I especially like the looks of the water here! Kind of feel like I want to keep turning my head.

Bill:
Uncommon POV. Nice motion blur in the water. Not bothered by the pine movement though.

Lovely motion to the water. Those are not pine needles though; looks like some kind of cedar or hemlock. I don't mind the small motion, though.

Hey Bill!
This is a nice shot, well executed. I don't really even notice any blurred branches. I was going to harp on the rotated presentation at first, but I have changed my mind. This presentation has caused me to look at this harder and longer than I might have otherwise. So I think it's effective!

Thanks everyone, good to post in Landscape again. Here is the deal, I did NOT rotate the photo at all. This was shot handheld at 1/10th second, no tripod w/ me. When I was standing on the rocks, holding the camera, this just felt like the natural angle to shoot it at--it wasn't even in my mind to make it a sort of trick shot--i was concentrating on staying still and motionless as possible. Just an FYI.
Funny, after I rotated it after reading these comments... I did come away with a sort of abstract I like even better!!! Thanks again.

The direction of flow here hurts my head, and unfortunately not in a good way. I do like your choice of shutter speed, as it really brings out the sparkles in the water.

Interesting perspective here, Bill. Get the feeling of vertigo from this POV. Nicely done.
