I thought I'd try a little something different with this photograph in black and white and not too much contrast but more about shades of grey. While shooting I was trying to time the ocean in such a way where the water would sort of mimic the sky with texture leaving the pier floating in the composition instead of anchoring it. Check out the large size let me know what you think.

The sky is very dramatic and this works well in B&W and there are some good elements in the image, but the composition doesn't work well for me. With the pier and horizon in the middle of the image it is just static. I would crop out a lot of the bottom of the image and make it more of a pano and put the sky and pier as the center of the image. Then the pier would be a much stronger leading line taking the eye in the image. This has image a lot of promise and well worth working on. Just my opinion. Thanks for sharing.
