I hoped to see some new owl species during my first trip to SE Asia last month. Unfortunately I only saw one, but it was a nice encounter. This buffy fish owl liked to hang around the lodge I stayed at in Borneo, using the lights to help it spy insects or rodents wandering about the lawns at night. Though I didn't spend too much time with it, I was lucky to get a few shots since it rained the next two nights.

Nice one Max - what a great bird. We had one perched in the open in daylight at Taman Negara and my lens fogged up :mad:
