Somewhere North of Casper.
Shot with Pentax K5. 135mm at f4.5 and 1/250 sec.
I had to clone out some oil tanks, but that's Wyoming for you.

Welcome to NPN! A good first beginning. Compression has done no favor for the detail in the land portion. I suggest posting a large (1200 pixels x n) image in this instance, or others like it. Hard to judge IQ of a vast landscape rendered so small. Bring on more!

Wonderful vast scenic shot, Tom! Love the lighting on the land contrasted with the dark clouds in the sky. I also like all the various shades of blues and greens in this image.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, the vast Wyoming landscape deserves a larger image. I added a "Purchase Print URL" link which goes to a much larger image, but I can't figure out how to add the "View larger photo" link.

Tom, when you post a photo there are two different "browse" buttons. The first is for the normal post size and the second one at the bottom is for posting an optional larger size. (Beside that button it gives details of the size photo you can post.) When you post a larger photo in the second spot it automatically puts "view larger photo" in the corner below your posted picture. That's all there is to it! Let me know if you have any questions.

Lovely dramatic lighting and great sky. Welcome to NPN! My personal preference would be to be able to see just a bit of detail in the darkest shadows below the buttes, but this is a terrific first post and works very well as presented.

Great lighting in this image, well done. This light reminds me of the flint hills region of Kansas those few weeks in the spring when the grass is fresh green. Thanks for sharing.

I like the dramatic shadows, but I might agree about the bringing up a little texture. I'll have to look into that.
I like the saturation and drama, but in fact I had to back these off a bit in ACR.
Clicking the "purchase image" takes you to a much bigger image, but does not require a login or trigger a shopping cart.
