Spent my morning at Greenland a local Nursery. I have been going there just about everyday in search of spring or with a client .It is a fab place to sit and have a coffee and work on helping a client hone there camera skills !

ISO400, 90MM 2.8 Macro lens, 1/250 SEC AT f3.5, Tripod and handheld cloth diffuser , polarizer.

Nice job getting that green BG and finding some isolated blossoms. I really like the arch of the stem.
Would really like to see a vertical version too! Think that would set off the lines nicely.

Well composed and a nice image. Using a polarizer was a good move to enhance the color. I assume the diffuser was on the flash? Why so shallow a DOF?

Diffuser was a handheld fabric diffuser, I do not use a flash in any of my shots. Sorry Phil I guess I should have been more specific. As for SH ,DOF it just appeals to me as I really never like my shots when I have more of the BG in focus and tend to delete them as soon as I see them on my computer. I do try to use larger Aperture for shots as I know many of you prefer them for my images but I always end up hating them and the ones I like are the softer versions. A rebel without a clue as it were. :wavey:

Fine job on a plant that's tough to photograph. I like your composition but would like to see the tip of the first heart in focus.

Hi Howard these flowers are best know as bleeding hearts or Dicentra species. There are many varieties this is just one of about seven that grow here where I live.
