For Dear Life

A grasshopper hangs from its old exoskeleton, still too soft and brittle to start moving. I only had a couple days in Borneo, but I have to say that the night walks there were the best I've ever experienced. Tons of good creepy crawlies to photograph at night.

Cropped narrow due to a distracting leaf on the right.

Cool image, Max. I like the geometric shapes of the grasshopper, which show up particularly well against the dark BG.

Beautiful and graphic, it is also an excellent depiction of insect behavior. Take as high praise when I say that this is the first time I've ever considered a grasshopper beautiful.

Very interesting and beautiful image, Max! I have never seen this before. Borneo is such a great place to be and go shooting! A pity you only had a couple of days, you should try to stay longer the next time. :toast:

This is awesome Max! I was in Borneo in December for an exchange program, but didn't get to spend as much time exploring jungle critters as I would have liked. There's SO much out there... the possibilities are pretty endless once you free yourself from shooting exclusively the rockstar species in any area. Looking forward to seeing more of these if you have them!
