ghost deer!

I am sure we all have done this. I had been trying to line up a shot of gulls flying in front of a field of windmills, when I spotted a single deer along a tree line, so I just snapped off a couple for the heck of it. Not until I had downloaded the images and lightend the shadows did I see several deer standing inside the trees. So much for my powers of observation!

Hi John, a situation like this sounds familiar indeed! I remember such particularly situations with small animals such as birds or insects in a larger frame with a larger subject, realizing their presence only when viewing the image on the computer screen. I like the BG forest (with the deer), but find the FG a bit dominant and suggest to crop some of the bottom and include more on top (if you have). I would also boost the contrast a bit as the brightening up of the shadows has resulted in a washed out look.
