Cardinal

I wanted to take advantage of our out of control forsythia that is blazing in our backyard and use it as a backdrop. This cardinal came and sat nicely for me!

50D, 500mm, ISO 200, 1/1000, F4 LARGER version also posted.

Thanks for your comments!

Killer BG. Wish for less busy foreground. Bird is nice and sharp.

Very colorful, real eye candy. You have an excellent side view of the cardinal and superb feather detail. I like the hint of purple buds showing.

That yellow background really makes this image pop and I like the nice detail on the cardinal. I go back and forth on the OOF branches but do like the purple buds as they add the extra colors, nice job in getting this shot.

Excellent side view of this beauty, Sharon. Nice lighting and nice background color. I do wish for less OOF vegetation in the foreground.
