Another of my recent images from Ridgefield WMA. While this is a fairly common bird, I like the background and the pose this gal offered. I struggled with this post because of the cattail. Does the comp work for you?

Thanks.

Just about perfect, Charles. The pose and posture of the bird, the detail, the eye contact are great.

If this were mine, I would be grinding my teeth over the OOF cattail in front of the bird.

Very nice colors and nice detail. Light is good as well.

The cattail is what it is and I can't see how you could have composed this differently from this shooting position.

Really nice pose and detail and the cattails are an interesting addition. The OOF one detracts a little but some added selective sharpening there might help.
Well done!

She's a beauty, and I think she knows it, Chuck. Yeah, the cattail... no big deal IMO. Nice one. :toast:

The comp works fine for me, Charles. The cattail is not an issue for me. A great habitat to show a Red-winged Blackbird. Very nice image.
